AnimeCon is a three-day convention that was held this year in Ahoy Rotterdam. It is an international festival for lovers of anime, cosplay, games, manga and other modern Asian pop culture. Shinji Entertainment was allowed to come for two days to give a self-defense workshop. The team consists of artists who have many years of experience in various martial arts and self-defense, which allows them to provide very valuable workshops.

Very extensive workshops were given with a team of 6 people, in which reflex, strength, speed and improvisation ability were tested among the participants. The workshop started with an intensive warm-up, so that the muscles were properly warmed up for the exercises that followed. Reflexes and speed were tested by swinging balls, which had to be dodged. Strength was practiced by means of breaking planks and pads. Finally, the improvisational skills were put to the test by means of soft foam sticks, which the participants had to use to touch each other. The workshop ended with a competitive foam stick contest. Through these workshops, the participants are well armed with information about how to protect themselves in dangerous situations on the street.
